TERM FOUR ONLINE CHESS REGISTRATION

We can only wait for the social distancing regulations in Queensland to lift so we may begin organising events again. Regrettably, we have missed our annual Star Wars Day Chess event on May 4th as well as a number of our BIG CHESS DAY OUTs.

The current isolation regulations have also meant that for the first time in MANY years, the inter-school chess tournaments around Queensland have also been cancelled. A particular shame for some of the regional towns where the chess tournaments were growing in numbers and the students were eagerly anticipating each event.

CHESS FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED.

Ted offers chess coaching for people who have limited or no sight. With special boards and pieces designed for the blind and visually impaired, Ted’s offers coaching that is patient, encouraging and inspiring.

If you know someone who would like to learn to play chess but thought it not possible due to a lack of sight, please email Ted at ted@edwooducation.com.au to discuss all that is possible.

Chess is strategic game which can be played by anyone. The pieces can be changed so that a blind player can learn to play the game. There are different games in chess such as Take-Me chess and are an easy way to start to learn to play. Ted is an excellent and patient teacher.
